Hi, Y'all-
One of the things I do on the side is put together a newsletter for the
streetcar line in town. As
part of it, I have been asked to put together a photo contest. Since I've never
put one together
before (and haven't really entered any) I am asking for advice and pointers.
This is about all I know so far:
The subject in the photo would need to be the streecar line.
The winner gets two tickets to our "Dine around" progressive dinners.
The judges would be the streetcar line's board, the Chief Operating Officer,
and me.
I got permission to ask a pro photographer to also be a judge.
We didn't discuss who would own the copyright, or what reproduction rights we
would assert.
What submission formats are common?
How many weeks or months should a contest like this stay open?
What other questions do I not know to ask???
If I wasn't running this contest, I would probably enter a photo taken with
Olympus gear. (How's
that for tangentially on topic?)
Thanks, Steve Goss, Dallas TX usa
