I would be inconsistent if I didn't put in my plug for the Fuji F30.
It's low light performance is simply unmatched by those other little
things, not even close.
It is not the best P&S for unconscious photogs in bright, snapshot
weather, but with a little care, gives stunning results there too. AP
and SP modes have only one place on the mode switch, so you have to use
a menu to choose between them. Doesn't bother me, as I'm mostly an AP
guy, but they are there and give considerable control. Slowest shutter
speeds are oddly available in different modes, but again, can actually
be selected and controlled. A separate button for EV compensation is a
wonderful addition for exposure control without having to go into a menu.
No histogram, which is a shame. But the way it compresses brightness in
JPEGs is quite intelligent, and allows shooting to the right and
recovering shadow detail when needed. With the low noise, this is really
useful, as recovered shadow detail isn't just a pit of noise.
A good lens and great macro, too. Hre are some shots covering a
considerable range of lighting situations. Nos. two and eleven have
overlays that show how one may shoot to avoid blowing highlights and
still retain shadow detail in difficult lighting situations
