Use the 11-22 vertically oriented, shoot two shots, and stitch them
together using PTGui.
Lot's cheaper than the 7-14.
Also consider the 8mm Fisheye and de-fish the resulting file.

Subject: [OM] What would you do?
Hi all,
So I have a question about a job that I am doing that is probably going to
require me to have a slightly wider angle lens than the DZ 11-22mm that I
already own. It is shooting some higher end kitchen and cabinetry installs
for a local custom builder. Most of the shots I am planning for are in
spaces that the 11mm is wide enough for but there are a couple of places
where it would be useful to have a slightly wider lens. None of the spaces
are as tight as say some of the compact bathrooms that Jeff Keller has shown
us in California (though the price tags are close to the ones in CA here in
NC you get a whole lot more square footage for $800K). My dilemma comes from
the two options below:
1. Buy the DZ 7-14mm for my E-1.
2. Buy a Sigma 12-24mm in N*kon mount and either a D80 or F*ji S3.
Both of these options come in at about the same sort of money ($1700) but
that is not the problem for me. And yes I will acknowledge that they are not
the same coverage the DZ gives 14mm equiv vs.. 18mm from the Sigma. In the
situation I am looking at the max FL of the Sigma should be wide enough.
Most of my concern comes from the future of the professional end of the E
System. Like AG I find myself wondering how long I can sustain the E-1 and
the E System as a professional tool. While I do have a rather different
style of photography business than Ken does I find myself sharing a lot of
his perspectives on where the E System is going and the long term view of
my/our respective needs. Specifically of concern is the specter of the E-3
that haunts us all. Its eventual appearance and impact in the market will
determine if I stay with the E System. This is something I really want to do
but without a significant leap technologically I fear that the professional
end of the E System will be wound down. Unlike Ken what I have not done is
set a date by which something must have happened at Olympus before I make a
switch.
So offer me your perspectives, comments for and against; all are welcome.
Dan S.
