Thank you for the much needed tips ; I think I will add a length of wire
between the 2 ends as it was already too much a tight fit (making 4 solders
in all), and that would help if I ever need to clean the blades again. For
insulation, I'd rather avoid tape, and use a greater wire gauge insultation
piece as a "tube" to cover the soldering point. Seen it done before, and I
found it elegant, but moreover, it will help the wires pass again through the
slim hole between the lens and the body. A light touch of weak glue to hold
everything in place, and that should do it.
Mission 1 : finding a soldering iron.
I still can't believe how stupidly I messed it myself ! I was looking for a
pen for so long, and the very day I get it, I nearly destroy it. Talk about
clumsy.
