Sand dunes taken near Race Point on Cape Cod. I was told that 50 years ago
it was mostly all sand due to the fact that all the hardwood was harvested
for building and firewood many years ago. There was a big "oops" muttered
when houses in Provincetown were being buried by blowing sand on the
opposite side of the peninsula. Pitch pine is now the predominate tree as
nature is slowly making a comeback.
