I have no personal interest in the Sigma DSLRs, but I do read a lot of
stuff. It appears that the practical truth is that the Foveon sensors
resolve detail on a test chart better than a Bayer design Chip with the
same number of sites would, but less well than a Bayer with the three
times # of sites that Sigma touts.
The 3.4mp Foveon in the Sigma SD9 & 10 resolves about the same as a
6.3mp Canon 10D <http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sigmasd10/page18.asp>.
The new sensor will probably be about eq. to a 10mp Bayer sensor.
As to all the other noise about color accuracy, etc., I have no idea.
