As Chuck has pointed out with detailed suggestions, this is probably a
DIY project. An old style M42 like that should have very simple
construction.
The problem with repair of inexpensive things is that it's the same $
per hour, no matter what you bought it for.
So next time buy something expensive that doesn't work, so the repair
cost will seem worthwhile. :-)
