Nope. Absolutely real. Of course, so did the Chicago River,
Thames and a few other urban linear-cesspools.
Unfortunately in Cleveland's case, the cleanup of the river was
pretty much caused by a downturn in the industries that lined
that river.
But still, I have family in the greater Cleveland area and one
of the linear-parks runs right past their back yard. It's one
of the very best urban park systems in the country.
