Adobe never allowed upgrades between operating systems. They treated
them as two different products. I have heard that they may allow it
now, but at a higher price. I have never confirmed that. You will
need to check on the Adobe site for sure.
The nice thing about Adobe is that they allow you to upgrade any
version level in the same operating system. If you are patient you
can get a very cheap, older, unregistered version on ebay and upgrade
it.
Adobe has a new upgrade for Photoshop that they said would be
released in the spring. The reason they provided that information is
that the current version will not run natively on the new Intel Macs
and were responding about questions of when they would upgrade the
code. They said that the code update would be part of the new version.
What I would do is download the free Lightroom beta which is geared
specifically to photography and use that in the meantime. It may turn
out that you like it better and it may be cheaper than Photoshop when
finally put on the market.
