Me, too.

Check out the newest model, a 10 something or something 10. It has full pro
aspirations, and seems to hold great promise. The in-camera IS is supposed
to be better than others. I'm not entirely pleased with the ranges of the
zooms (how hard is it to make a 28-100 equivelent zoom? Tough, apparently),
but there is a good selections of primes.

> Olympus (good set of new lenses - but high noise sensor)
Love the lenses, but I wouldn't bet a quarter on their success.

> Canon (best? sensor but crappy wide angle )
The 5D seems to offer much of what I want, but I need to know more about the
wides, as I shoot a lot more WA than tele.

> Sony (zeiss lenses (which I like) - but I hate sony as a brand)
I don't share your hatred for Sony. If their next body (one that they
exclusively design) is good, I'll probably go there, for the Zeiss lenses.
My experience with both the full boat Zeiss lenses for my 'blad, and the
Zei-tax lenses that I had with a G2 pushes me in that direction.

I was a Nikon guy for years, so there is the D200, but I'm not in a
rush...it's a fall-back plan.

As the character in the movie said, "When monkeys fly out my butt!"

I'm not in a big rush, and I expect to continue with the 'blad and Xpan for
quite a few years, but I do expect to at the very least to trim down the OM
stuff (no, I'm not selling the 18 or 21/2). I expect that I will have both
for a long time. I'm planning to fedex film to Italy next summer!

Just this week, I pulled the pin on a Sony R1. I look at it as a transition.
I need something that I can carry on a plane, and it will serve for more
casual uses. Now, I think I can exist without a digital slr for years. There
is a fine pro lab where I live that still processes film, and with the
volume they have, that will probably stay around quite a while. If I lived
somewhere else, who knows?????

Oh, and Moose, my wife is getting a fuji F30. If she doesn't like it, she'll
bring it up with you. Be very scared!
