Yes, that's the way I play the old eye game.
The AR coating is essential and very effective.
The photochromic lenses work very well though sunglass clip-ons would be
handy for driving/riding in bright sunlight where the rays aren't
striking the glasses directly. I've never bothered though.
I insist on glass vs. plastic lenses. They're heavier but much more robust.
