Awhhhhh.... :)
I like this one:

I think the small DoF works well on these - it's hard to explain why though. I
guess it gives the pictures a sort-of 'dreamlike' quality, and draws your eyes
towards the kitten.

Can't say I've ever used Superia 400. I've used Superia 200 though, and I'm
quite fond of Reala 100, which seems to be very good at pushing the Fuji
Frontier minilab at the local Jessops into some strange 'insanely high
contrast' mode. Light grey and highlights get clipped to white, dark grey and
shadows get clipped to black, and the image looks truly crap as a result. I'm
actually surprised it does that - I'd have expected Fuji lab equipment to do a
better job, especially seeing as Fuji also make the film.
Thankfully my film scanner (a Minolta Scan Dual IV) pulls out a very usable
image when the brightness and white-point settings are pushed down slightly.
VueScan's 'manual colour adjust' feature is pretty much essential - I find its
auto-correction algorithm is a bit flaky and tends to go too far towards one
end of the spectrum.
Actually, I really need to get the scanner out again and upload a few shots
from the last roll of R100 I ran through the OM-4...
