I have to second (third?) this. I shot boat races one year with my 2100UZ
and the next year with my Panasonic FZ20, and the IS in the 2100 was definitely
better as I panned boats passing me at speeds from 50 to 125 mph. I needed
more pixels, though, and Olympus didn't follow up on the great 2100. That
caused me to question how dedicated to "serious" digital photography Olympus
was
going to be. At the time, all they were releasing were point-and-shoots, some
of which were, admittedly, the best of their type. I have held off on buying
into another digital SLR system for two reasons: my attachment to Olympus
and the fact that I haven't had enough time for photography the last couple of
years (especially since Katrina came to town).
Since we now see that IS lenses will be available in the 4/3 mount from
other companies, I hope Olympus will apply the expertise they have already
demonstrated and give us some Zuiko IS lenses . My Oly Stylus 500 and Pan FZ20
have
kept the digital wolves at bay for a while now, and I'm really hanging on in
the hopes that Oly will give us a great next generation of digital SLRs. I'm
very interested in the E-400 as a starter. It seems to harken back to the OM
philosophy and form.

That camera has probably the best image stabilization I have ever seen. I
have a Panasonic FZ20 and a Konica Minolta Z5 and neither IS even starts to
compare to the Uzi.
