It occurred to me as I was looking at the preview of the M8 again
that the camera IS odd. The film Ms have been very "form follows
function", but the M8 is not a film camera and there is no need to
use the same shape built to house a film canister with the least
amount of wasted space. You would think they would have struck out in
a new direction with modern German design or at least to put a small
grip on it. Putting the battery and memory card beneath the bottom
plate just seems silly, making removal from a tripod mandatory to
change either. But it is handsome, like a modern Mini.
