I just called Olympus America and asked about the E-400. The rep said
he believed the E-400 would be available in the States sometime early
next year. If I purchased one overseas when it is released I would not
be able to initially get warranty service here since none of their techs
would be trained for the repair service. He thought it was possible
that it might be released in Canada at the same time as Europe and
warranty service could be done there.
I asked about the E-1 replacement and he couldn't give me a date for its
release in the US but did say that Japan told them to expect a 10-12MP
range and a $1000-$2000 price range.
