Having just splashed my 'Judas money' (from flogging off my beloved
Nissan Micra) on a new E-1, 14-45 and battery grip, I am still in the
first, heady rush of the New.
One thing this has not done, however, is diminish my love for my OMs and
Provia. The files from the E-1 are great, they are easily better than
scans from my Scanwit. I haven't changed my approach to a shot at all,
but now I can review instantly and see if I got the angle and effect I
aimed for. This has a lot of value, not least because it can be a
'polaroid' for either an OM shot or a 6x6.
One thing that has occurred over the last few years has been this very
slowing down, LOOKING (apologies for shout) rather than just looking,
and thus actually SEEING MORE. Even if I take no shots, this makes every
walk more rewarding. I have a feeling that having the digital to proof
the shots will improve this factor even more.
Gotta love those OMs.
