I'll try that, and carefully. I bought the lens used several years ago, and
everything's perfect except the way the hood fits. It's been that way since I
got it, only now it seems to be getting worse. Yesterday, when I removed the
hood and lens cap to be sure I knew what I was seeing in the photo Graham
posted, I thought I was going to need a pipe wrench to get the hood off. I've
got a pretty clean record of not abusing gear, so I'm blaming whatever's wrong
on the previous owner(s).
