That's not very effective, the eyes' still look quite unnatural. I don't
know where the blue over red idea came from, nor how it might work on
less severe cases, bu it fails here.
The red eye correction tool in PS didn't work very well for me either,
but I've never tired it, so I may be using it poorly.x
But back to basics, the human iris should be a view into a black room,
black. So I selected all the red/yellow/etc. colors there and replaced
them with black

The catch lights were then overpowering, like searchlights, so I toned
them down some. Because of the small size, the edges of the irises are a
little rough if you look closely, but otherwise, I think it looks quite
natural - no one will guess about her secret, evil life. :-) Working at
original size would get rid of the rough edges. There, you could feather
the edges a bit from black to the surrounding color.
