I have a possible suggestion ...though somewhat "out of the box". There are
still some US military installations in Germany. There are still
non-military types like teachers and nurses at schools for dependent
children and hospitals and outpatient treatment locations. I would bet we
still have installations in Frankfurt and Wiesbaden. Contacting some of
these folks or a soldier in a military unit and asking a favor would enable
you with their help to ship via US military mail.
You might try contacting the medical photography unit or ask to speak to a
pathologist at Madigan Gen Hospital located at Ft. Lewis, WA. Either of
those types would have a common photography interest and could give you
contact info for their acquaintances currently serving in Germany. Also, as
these military families rotate back to the US for new assignments, they are
given free shipping of their household furniture and effects... this method
would definitely take a month or so for the moving van to get to their new
home at their new assignment. Several families a month are probably arriving
in Ft Lewis from Germany.
