That is true. The proportion is 4:3.
There are some modestly sized digital cameras from most of the
makers. The Canon 350D is the smallest, I think, probably not much
different from the OM cameras in size & weight. A kit for any of the
APS-C sized sensors including a modest zoom(18-135) and a couple of
primes(14mm & 200mm) would cover your range and not be too much
bigger, except for the 14 maybe.
