Have you tried the 180/2.8? The three-D perspective you speak about is right
here. Stunningly beautiful background compression shooting Naomi Watts at
about 15-20 feet away..... ;)

No, the IS-series had a completely different dioptric control design but in
many ways, the loose foundation remains the same because the idea doesn't
change.
