Wouldn't this be beneficial only when simultaneously using a HD and
CD/DVD which would have both been connected to the same primary or
secondary controller? Seems like that for most users one could put the
main R/W burner on the opposite 'channel'  (primary-secondary) from the
scratch disk/cache which was likely to be used.
