Since I chose the 5D I obviously opted to keep a 35mm size frame but, if
you decide to go for the APS sized frame the Tokina 12-24 f/4 is reputed
to be an excellent piece of glass. I wouldn't be surprised that Tokina
is the source of the equivalent Nikon glass. Don't know anything about
the Tamron.
