Actually ABE _is_ lots of little dealers. Amazon has taken ABE's model
and adapted it by running the sales through Amazon and tacking on their
fee. That name recognition they lost money for years to acquire has
begun to pay off. A careful search will sometimes find the exact same
book on ABE directly from the bookstore at a lower price than seen on
Amazon, reflecting this surcharge.
