Things that I found intriguing on the July Blog
Fuji has discontinued bulk black and white film.
Mike Johnston, like Moose, is having fun with the Fuji F30.
A sculpture submitted for a competition at the Royal Academy in
London was separated from its square stone base. The sculpture was
rejected, but the based was regarded in the judging as having merit.
Interesting review of Light Zone.
Crashing DLSR price: Pentax* IST DL with rebate is $350.
The discovery that at least a couple of people like longer rectangles
for horizontal pix and shorter rectangle formats for verticals. Hmm.
Never thought of that, but almost all the really stunning square
format pix I have liked would have been verticals had they been shot
with a rectangular format camera. There are polls selecting the most
pleasing shape for a vertical and horizontal formats in the
discussion about the Golden Rectangle.
There is a funny anecdote about teaching kids photography.
