Sorry to hear that Winsor. I had a similar experience. My dad had a benign
tumor of the colon when he was 83. The surgeon at Cleveland Clinic--one of
the best hospitals and one of the best surgeons--decided to operate anyway.
He died from complications of the surgery, after six weeks of intensive
care. Had they not operated, he likely would have been at my wedding the
next summer, and lived to know his grandson, who was born a year and a half
later.
Surgeons are all about cutting. What's that saying--if all you have is a
hammer, everything looks like a nail.
