Just go out several times and handle them and pick the one you like.
Handle even ones you would not think about. See how easy they are to
use without reading the manual. That is really more important than
the image quality differences in my opinion.

The rate of change for digital cameras has really slowed down. New
models come out, but the better current ones are about all one would
want after using a 35mm film camera. There will be improvements, but
they will be small and incremental. Maybe small increases in
resolution and/or noise handling.

I like the idea of being able to make a nice big print of detailed
landscapes. For me it does not make sense to buy a 5MP camera of
older design when for a little more you can have a recent well
featured 10 or 12 MP camera that will give more sharp details. But
your needs may be different.

And this is a philosophical thing, many people have gravitated to
Canon because they like the idea of using their older Oly lenses with
an adaptor. I decided I did not want to do that. If I was buying a
new high tech camera I wanted the lenses that were designed for it.
Lenses with built in focus motors, VR and designed for the sensor are
great. I decided that making a decision just on the merits of the
camera/lens system without keeping one foot in the past using the old
stuff was more important for me. Dumped the old stuff and have not
regretted it a bit, well, except for the ease of using it.
