Honestly? A minute? I just timed mine: 15 seconds (of course the
card was empty). That however is longer than any other camera I own.
I also have noticed that it takes longer for my PC to throw up a file
list to view when the H-xD is in the reader. I don't notice any of
these situations when I use a regular xD card. The apparent advantage
of the H-xD card is quicker write times, but other processes are not
improved and in some cases are slower (for me at least). Still, no
problems with the card and the faster write times are definitely worth
it.
