Yeah, I've considered 'em. But they're still too big compared to a
dedicated storage solution, far too expensive, and would ultimately
become a one-purpose laptop with a too-small screen (if I wanted to take
a laptop to do viewing/manipulation of images, I'd just take the 17"
Toshiba I already own and am typing this message on).
The JOBO (or Nexto, which is almost impossible to find from North
American suppliers) would fit in a *small* coat pocket. Or a small
compartment of an equally-compact gear bag. About the size of a
shoe-mounted pro-quality flash.
Size and weight, folks. Size and weight. And as Bernard Frangoulis
noted, leaving 'em behind in a hotel room for the day is a good way for
them to disappear. I want to carry all the gear on my person as much as
possible -- someone wants to steal 'em from me, they gotta tussle with me.
