Sorry no experience with them but ...
At 81 cents per slide they can't be doing any dust spotting by hand. Keep
your slides spotless before you send them in.
The time it takes to scan a box of slides is very considerable. Although
I've got a nice film scanner, if I were starting from scratch I would
probably get a good flatbed scanner to give reasonably good scans quickly,
then probably take the few that I really liked over to Calypso Imaging.
Judging a good 35mm slide can be difficult unless it is enlarged. Being able
to scan it quickly without worrying about dust that is already on it would
let you judge whether it is worth the effort. If you have the time and
desire to spend hours in the digital darkroom, a film scanner can be a good
tool.
Good luck,

Given the challenges inherent in slide scanning, I'm wondering it this
might be a better alternative:

Truth to tell, only a small percentage of the slides I've shot are
worth scanning so I'm wondering if it might not be better to let the
pros do it. That could save me the cost of hardware and time and
hopefully provide better results.
Anyone have experience with these folks?
And yeah, I'd certainly be living in the leftmost column. :D
