One of the best yard equipment repair shops hereabouts had a sign that
proclaiimed "Lawnmore repair." The owner said a lot of people stopped to tell
him it was spelled wrong, then returned with lawnmowers, tillers, chainsaws,
and such to be repaired. I took my chainsaw in once, but they wouldn't tune up
the goat.
My favorite was a used car lot in the town of Maryville, Tennessee, just up the
road from where I grew up: "Murvil Otto Sells." That's pretty much how folks
pronounced "Maryville Auto Sales," so that's how they spelled it.
