Yes it will, as long as the Tamron has an Oly OM mount Adaptall on it..
An extension tube is basically just a tube with a female mens mount on
one end and a male on the other. So if a lens fits a particular camera
mount and the tube is the same mount type, inserting the tube will work.
The early Oly tubes were really that simple and did not relay diaphragm
settings and auto-stop down from camera to lens and back.
Later ones, like the one you reference, are Auto tubes. On an OM body,
they operate just like with the lens directly mounted on the body, with
full aperture viewing and metering and auto stop down when the picture
is taken. Oly tubes came in 7, 14 and 25 mm lengths, both manual and
auto. Many after market tubes come in 12, 22 and 36 mm lengths, all
auto, as far as I know. I have a set of each for flexibility.
Since you will using these on an E-500, where there is no auto diaphragm
operation anyway, any and all tubes will work the same.
It is also really easy to convert cheap old 4 element teleconverters
into extension tubes. The lens elements of the very common Vivitar
2x-21can be removed in a few moments, resulting in a 26 mm auto
extension tube.
