Agree. That's why I think C.H. tests were valuable: all those variables were
made constant in his comparison work.
I'd add another one: the scanner itself.
Sometime ago, I printed a scanned Provia 100F for the solstice event
organized by Brian. The .tiff file showed a 'pattern' in the bokeh which was
absent in the original slide. Would an upsampling have avoided this?
