In my experience, which is considerable, forgiveness is easier to get than
permission. I'm a true believer that what she doesn't know and can't find out
won't hurt me. But if she does find out, I can repent, be remorseful and
promise jewelry tomorrow convincingly enough to win an award. Just ask any of
my ex-wives. ;-]
