Sadly that's not true of current day consumer Lexmarks. They have one
of the worst cost per page of any printer out there (expect for Dell,
which uses rebranded Lexmark cartridges with an even higher markup). It
seems like the biggest "innovation" of any brand of printer is to give
you less ink for the money. That's why I'm still holding onto my old HP
1220c for wide format printing. Sure it's only four-color, but the ink
is dirt cheap compared to the other stuff out there.

Yeah, good ol' HP seems quite determined to 'compress' the life of
their products by starving the parts if not the supply chain. Let me
guess - toner still available?
I have a commercial grade Lexar that keeps cranking away. Toner cart
is so big and efficient I replaced it only twice in about eight years.
Don't make 'em like that any more.
