Or set them on a large rubber mat, press down on them with a rubber covered
flat object, and twist. Grabbing them on their circumference slightly
distorts them, causing them to bind. Sometimes they may not be all that
tight. It's more a matter of not distorting them while twisting.
I think Bill mentioned some clamps which minimize the distortion also.
