I don't think you'll do any damage to the body as long as the stop screw is
still in the lens mount (it will stop rotating in the normal position when
mounting the lens). Your main risk is dismounting the lens and dropping it
when focussing.
This is a fairly common problem with the 135/3.5, the spring which applies
pressure to the lock tends to pull out of the plastic it is screwed into. The
whole problem is fairly obvious if you remove the screws holding the mount to
the body of the lens.
