Piers,
Thanks for the suggestion - UK-US voltage converter £14.99 - scanner working
fine :-)
To be fair to Minolta, they replied to my e-mail today telling me where I
could get the UK unit!

Hop along to Maplin, Martyn, look for their 300VA US-UK autotransformer for
£20.

Subject: [OM] Minolta Elite 5400 II - AC adapter - Idiot in need of Help...
Hi,
Just received a brand new Minolta Elite 5400 II film scanner from B&H -
marvellous, now to get on & do some quality scanning... Oh Bugger!
Only one problem - didn't read the detailed specs properly :-(
It uses different AC adapters depending where you are - Naturally, I have a
US model which is no use for 240V here in the UK. I realise it's a long shot
- don't suppose that anyone has a UK adapter (AC-U28) they no longer need?
Or possibly any ideas about where to source one? [Have e-mailed
Konica-Minolta but not holding my breath].
Regards - Martyn Smoothy
