What I found fascinating in those photos was an illustration in
Bokeh interference from the sensor. In the viewfinder (and on
film) I get these wonderfully smooth bokeh blobs with nice soft
penumbras, but the digital photo shows these hard-edged circles.
Even my 100/2.8 suffers from this at some apertures. :(
