My 1-7 shows vignetting in the viewfinder which varies with the focal length
and the maximum aperture of the lens, as well as with the position of the
eye. Using a 500/8 mirror lens there is pronounced vignetting, but I can
get to see all corners of the image by moving my eye around - just not all
of them together. But focusing is a really easy task with the 1-7 screen,
much much more better (TM!) than with 'normal' screens - even if they don't
vignette.
And, on balance, I think I will leave the position of my eyes unchanged :-)

Subject: [OM] The 1-7 screen.
I bought a 1-7 screen the other day and put in my OM-2 to test it today. I'm
planning to use it in combination with my spottingscope.
Anyway, is the finder supposed to be all black besides a circular spot with
this screen? As the screen doesn't have a matte surface I guess this is the
result, much like looking through the finder without a screen.
