Well it's not a link. A link would be <a href="http://url/">Link
text</a> (hopefully the fact that I'm sending this in plain text will
mean that doesn't get too fouled up on the other end).
She's simply relying on a feature in her mail reader to render URLs
in the form http://url/ as a link.
