Well, I talked them down $3500 off sticker price. Probably got screwed anyway
without being kissed, but I'm still happy. One of the factors I considered
when buying it, besides the hotrod stuff, was that 22.5 cu. ft. of airtight,
out-of-sight and secure gear storage space. I won't need the raggedy-ass
clothes and the funky boxes when driving it. :-)
All seriousness aside, it's getting more and more important to safeguard the
gear as it gets increasingly expensive, even factoring in inflation and all
that stuff. After posting that shot of my digital outfit in the old LowePro
bag the other day, it dawned on me that there's a helluva lot of my hard-earned
money in that old sack.

So, having nothing better to do at the moment, I dug out the invoices and
calculated what it all cost me. These are the actual prices paid, except if
there's a * after the price, that means it's something I've had so long I don't
remember what it cost, so I'm just guessing how much I'd have to pay to replace
it off yeBay or from somebody here -- except the four-thirds adapter thing,
which was once free, but ain't anymore.

That's just one bag, so it's well worth keeping at least one eye on. I may
have overlooked a couple of little things, but the bag's out in the garage in
the SSR, where it rode along for a little speedy adventure this morning, and
I'm too lazy to go down and fetch it back up to fully inventory. I left it
there 'cause we're going out later this afternoon, when the light gets more
better :-)
Let's be careful out there.
