Well, it's nice to be able to brag about how they are improving things.
However, I suspect that a "significant increase in precision", i.e.,
tighter tolerances, are simply necessary in order to maintain equal
results with the smaller sensor. When enlarged to the same size, the
image on a half the size sensor witll be magnified twice as much, as
will any errors, abberations, etc.
