The exit pupil is usually calculated by dividing the power into the
objective lens diameter, eg, 50mm/7 = 7.111111111111
For a 10 power, you need a 70mm objective, for 8, 56.
A better bet for distant observing would be one of the Canon
image stabilised binoculars.
