First of all if you see cars driving on the ice, that is a quite good sign
that ice is safe :) But actually, you can see Anna holding a spear with a
metal point which we use for checking the thickness of the ice. Usually you
can stand on ice which hold for three hits of the spear. Using a spear is

you can see my father and his friend using a modern type, witch works like
skiingsticks only more solid.
This day we had no less than 6 cm ice which sings when you skate on it.
