Well, my E300 kit did indeed arrive on Friday, but somone at digital depot
managed to snd the wrong lens (14-45), so that bit stayed in its plastic bag
waiting to be sent back. Had a phone call this morning to say they'd send
me the 14-54 today and I should us the packing to return the 14-45. I
expect this will be resolved without further fuss.
In the meantime I have the body, an MA-1 and som old lenses to play
with..... So, not wishing to inflict th apalling untidiness of my flat on
you, I got this little fellow down of the shelf, set him up next to a bit of
old brick, shone a light on him and shot him with little Tammy (SP 90/2.5
macro).

F/22, ISO100 - you can just about tell this isn't as sharp as the above, due
to diffraction. Has coped well with the long exposure time (13 sec), too.

You can hardly see the noise in the ISO1600 shot scaled down, but th
difference is more obvious here, where I've cropped out a section with no
resizing:

I think I'm going to like this camera. I can actually focus it manually,
which I never managed with th E10, or the Minolta A1, and I'm quite happy so
far with the results from my old lenses - faffing about with stop-down
metering isn't so bad, though I wish the jog dial would *stay* functioning
as a shutter speed dial instead of reverting back to trying to be an
aperture setting after a few seconds.
