A comparison to film size might be valid if 4/3 had been the first on
the scene, but by the time Olympus figured it out, APS sized sensors
had become the professional standard. If you lop off the ends of one
of those to achieve a 4/3 format it is not a whole lot bigger than
the Oly 4/3. That is why I said that taking a camera with 1/1.8
sensor and turning it into an professional standard might be the
equivalent of what Leica did. And I suppose that could happen,
eventually.
