Steve, I'll say that the deep gash in the paint of the magnesium
prism hump of my E-1 is proof that I surely made the right
decision 10 months ago. Also, looking over the photo sales I
made in 2005 is further proof.
Even if the E->1 totally blows away the E-1 in pixel count,
focus speed and number of cupholders, the E-1 will go down in
history as a classic camera. I predict that in twenty years
when the pointy-headed folks put together a list of "most
influential" or "best DSLRs", the E-1 will be locked in a
stranglehold of the top two or three spots. Just like the OM-1
is revered today--over 30 years after the introduction.
