IIRC the foreground lake was burned in. Not a zone system issue,
exactly, but a printing decision, of which there were apparently very
many.
I saw an exhibit of St. Ansel's prints in my city about 5 years ago.
The exhibit area was too dimly lit to do the prints justice. Pity.
