I've noticed that a great way to start a major 'flame war' on most
internet venues is to publicly correct one of said malaprops (or other
poor spelling/grammar). Here, by contrast, such corrections are rapidly
becoming an art form. :-)
'Tis quite amazing how vehemently many (usually, it appears, much
younger) folks defend the idea that "it doesn't matter on-line". My
response is, generally, "Well, duh. No, you are correct, it doesn't. At
least, not if one actually wishes to appear to be a barely literate
idiot." Which response generally proves effective for even *more*
entertainment.
